CHENNAI: Chief Minster M. Karunanidhi condemned Wednesday's attack on the office of Dinakaran in Madurai as "an attack on democracy and press freedom." Mr. Karunanidhi promised that none of those responsible for the act would be spared and that legal action would be taken against them. Noting that the violence was consequent to the publication of an opinion poll on the preferred choice of his successor, he said: "There is no place for dynastic succession in the DMK."
