Entrance test for PG courses in June

BANGALORE: The Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to postgraduate courses of various universities for the academic year 2007-08 in the State will be held in the third week of June and Mysore University will conduct the test.

A Bangalore University communiqué stated here on Saturday that the decision to hold the CET was taken by the Inter-University Board on February 23. Mysore University has been entrusted with holding the CET for 11 PG courses, which include M.Sc., in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics and Microbiology; M.A., in History, Economics and Political Science; M.S.W.; M. Ed., and M. Com. The marks secured in the CET alone would be the criterion for admission to PG courses. But those fail to get the qualifying marks in the degree examination would not be called for counselling even if they secure qualifying marks in CET.

All the universities will keep 90 per cent of the seats for students from Karnataka while the rest would be allotted to those from outside the State.
