ERODE: The Powerloom Service Centre, Erode, is providing free powerloom weaving training to youths. In a release here, the Assistant Director, Powerloom Service Centre, Surampatty, Erode, M. Vijaya Singh, said that the Union Textile Ministry and Office of the Textile Commissioner, Mumbai had set up the Powerloom Service Centre at Erode for the decentralised power loom sector. The centre was providing two months free training in powerloom weaving, maintenance and fabric designing. It also imparted practical training in dobby loom, jacquard loom, terry loom, Lakshmi Ruti "C" Automatic Loom and Sulzer Projectile Shuttleless Loom. For application forms and further details regarding the 84th batch training that would start on June 1, candidates who had completed 18 years could contact the Assistant Director on any working day.
