BANGALORE: Low-fare domestic airline IndiGo on Monday launched a new flight service from Bangalore to the Tripura capital Agartala, its 14th destination. IndiGo will connect Agartala to Bangalore via Kolkata and Hyderabad on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with its ninth new Airbus A320.

The Bangalore-Agartala flight will leave the city at 7.30 a.m. and reach Agartala at 1.10 p.m. The flight will leave Agartala at 1.55 p.m. to reach Bangalore at 8.50 p.m. The fare is Rs. 3,599.

IndiGo president and chief executive officer Bruce Ashby said, "After launching operations in August 2006, we have taken delivery of nine new A320s. We have proved that the demand for an airline that provides fares that are always affordable, runs on time, and takes the hassles out of travel, is high."

The airline operates 58 daily flights with a fleet of nine A320 aircraft and flies to 14 destinations.
