Four of family hurt in attack

Thiruvananthapuram: Four members of a family were injured in an attack by unidentified persons at Azhikode near Nedumangad late on Thursday night.

Hospital sources said Madhu, 48, Sulochana, 40, Santosh, 25, and Manju, 19, residents near Lower Primary School, Azhikode, were attacked by a group of persons around 11 p.m.

The police cited previous enmity as the reason for the attack.

The attack took place when the family members were sleeping, the police said.

Two injured

In another incident, two brothers sustained serious injuries when they were attacked by a gang at Parasuvackal near Parasala.

The injured were identified as Radhakrishnan, 45, and his brother, Basi, 34. Hospital sources said the condition of Basi was serious.
