MADURAI: In a pre-dawn operation, sleuths of the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested a top drug peddler in Bangalore on Thursday and seized heroin worth Rs. 10.54 crore in the international market and meant for Sri Lanka. A team, led by NCB south zone unit Director A. Davidson Devasirvatham, raided a house at Bommanahalli around 5 a.m. and arrested Bawa alias Mohammed Arif Rehman (65) and his accomplice, Mansoor Hussain (30), of Bhopal minutes before the two planned to hand over 10.54 kg of heroin to an agent. Bangalore Staff Reporter writes: Joint Commissioner of Police Gopal B. Hosur said he was not aware of it.
