BANGALORE: The auction of 57.32 acres of government lands that were recovered from encroachers in Bangalore Urban district fetched Rs. 25.11 crore on Tuesday, and several blocks of land fetched less than the guidance value fixed for the area. One block of land could not be auctioned off since bidders did not evince interest. The lands were auctioned by the Legal Cell and Prevention of Unauthorised Construction on the premises of Deputy Commissioner (Bangalore Urban) office. A block of 28.28 acres of land in survey number 25 of Somashettihalli in Yashwanthpura hobli of Bangalore North taluk fetched Rs. 14.21 crore with an individual bidder Ramaiah Reddy succeeding in the bid. The guidance value fixed for the area by the government is Rs. 35 lakh an acre. Another block of 11.30 acres of land in survey number 40 of Matthahalli village in Dasanapura hobli fetched Rs. 1.67 crore whereas the government had fixed the guidance value at Rs. 28 lakh an acre. Raghava Reddy succeeded in offering the highest bid. Janata Education Society succeeded in placing the highest bid at Rs. 2 crore for 6.15 acres of land on survey number 52 at Lakshmipura village in Dasanapura hobli. The guidance value for the area has been fixed at Rs. 21 lakh an acre. Two blocks of 4.21 acre and 4.06 acres of land on survey number 50 in Bettanegere village fetched Rs. 2.29 crore and Rs. 2.16 crore respectively and Space Employees' Association succeeded in bagging the bid. The guidance value has been fixed at Rs. 18 lakh an acre. Four pieces of land in survey number 161 at Huskar village in Dasanapura hobli fetched rates above the guidance value. 22 guntas fetched Rs. 21 lakh, 16 guntas fetches Rs. 17 lakh, 25 guntas fetched Rs. 22 lakh and 1.23 acres fetched Rs. 82 lakh whereas the guidance value has been fixed at Rs. 20 lakh an acre. Fifteen acres of land in Punugamaranahalli in Tavarekere hobli in Bangalore South could not be auctioned as bidders did not participate in the auction.
