Prosecution witness is deposing before Special Court

BANGALORE: An automobile is likely to become the centre of attraction on Thursday when it will be produced before the Special Court trying the multi-crore fake stamp paper case against Abdul Karim Lala alias Telgi and several others.

The vehicle was seized by the Bangalore police on October 2002 from Primrose Road in connection with the stamp paper racket.

One of the witnesses for the prosecution, Joyappa, had driven the car when it was used by Rafiq Ahmed, who is listed as accused number 3 in the chargesheet filed by the Madivala police.

Joyappa, who is a witness for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), had driven the car frequently. His testimony was incomplete on Wednesday as the car had not been produced before the court for him to identify it.

The car is likely to be produced before the court on Thursday for Joyappa to identify it.

Apart from Joyappa, another witness for the CBI, Sukumara, a receptionist, testified in the Madivala case on Wednesday. Special Judge Virupax Angadi adjourned further hearing to Thursday.
