Film festival on water from June 7

BANGALORE: The second International Film Festival on water, "Voices from the Waters", will be held in the city from June 7 to 11 and more than 120 films from around 30 countries will be screened.

The film festival is being organised by Bangalore Film Society, Arghyam and Films for Freedom among others.

Announcing this to presspersons, S. Vishwanath, one of the organisers, said: "The aim of the festival is to deepen the kind of dialogue on water issues in the medium of film."

It features full-length films, short films, animation films and documentaries, all of which attempt to connect the public with water as the source of all life. Some of the films to be screened are "Dweepa" by Girish Kasaravalli, "Bara" by M.S. Sathyu and "Ganashatru" by Satyajit Ray.

They will be screened between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Gurunanak Bhavan. Entry is free. For details, email bfs@bgl.vsnl.net.in or call 25493705, 98862-13516.
