Pet dog owners asked to take licence

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: In an effort to identify stray dogs, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has asked owners of pet dogs to secure licence from it.

Warning

A release said that licences for pet dogs would reduce the problem of stray dogs in the city considerably, and legal action would be initiated against those who failed to secure the licence.

A sum of Rs. 100 would be charged for issuing licence for pet dogs, and the BBMP would issue a badge and licence book to the owners.

Adoption

A sum of Rs. 25 would be charged for issuing licences to those who have adopted dogs, such as residents welfare associations and the general public.

Besides, it has asked owners to administer rabies and D.H.L.P. vaccine to pet dogs every year.
