BANGALORE: Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Bipin Gopalakrishna said on Saturday that the police would produce Honalli MLA M.P. Renukacharya before the court on June 25 following the court issuing a non-bailable warrant against him. Mr. Gopalakrishna told The Hindu that the police had received the court order on the warrant. The Fifth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court here issued the arrest warrant on Friday after the Chandra Layout police filed a charge sheet against Mr. Renukacharya. On a complaint by nurse B.V. Jayalakshmi, the police on April 20 registered a case of criminal intimidation against the MLA under Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code. The charge against the BJP MLA from Davangere district was that he had had threatened Ms. Jayalakshmi that he would paste her obscene photographs near her house and a nursing college with which she was associated.
