CHENNAI : The Lions Club observed Helen Keller Day on Saturday at Sankara Nethralaya by recognising the services of four organisations in the city and the suburbs. The KIM Lions Eye Hospital in T. Nagar, the Hindu Mission Hospital in Tambaram, the Aravind Sai Eye Hospital in Pammal and the Sankara Nethralaya, Rural Mobile Tele Ophthalmology Unit, and the ophthalmologists from these hospitals were felicitated.
Years of service
The Club has been observing the day for several years, besides working with Sankara Nethralaya to get free surgery for about 1,000 patients each year.
