A different film for Parthepan

CHENNAI: Parkar Brothers' "Ammuvagiyanan" is a story about a commercial sex worker. Director Padmamagan said it was difficult to choose a heroine for the role.

All the heroines who were approached said they were very much impressed by it, but were reluctant to play the role. The search for a lead actress, in fact, extended to Mumbai and beyond.

"But at the end of the day we got someone nearer home. Bharathi hails from the Kovai region," said the director.

Rustic looks

Deciding the hero was relatively simple. His rustic looks swung it for R. Parthepan.

After listening to the story for nearly two hours, the actor is reported to have said he felt that "Ammuvagiyanan" would be a milestone in his career.

The film has M.S. Prabhu behind the camera. Music is scored by Sabesh Murali, dialogues are by S. Suralirajan and the story, screenplay and direction are by Padmamagan.
