BANGALORE: Within five years of its formation, the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has emerged as one of the mega-size government-owned companies in the State in terms of huge transactions. The BESCOM is now a Rs. 4,852-crore company. This was stated by BESCOM in-charge Managing Director V.M. Chandre Gowda here on Monday. He said that BESCOM had more than doubled its turnover from Rs. 2,270 crore when it was formed on June 1, 2002. It is involved in transactions of Rs. 15 crore to Rs. 16 crore a day, he said.
