Bangalore: A senior police official in Bangalore, who did not wish to be named, admitted that the incident was a violation of fundamental rights. "This deserves to be dealt with seriously," he told The Hindu . Referring to the arrest being aired by a private channel, he said it was "not done" and added that the channel had certain ethical responsibilities to at least blur the faces. "To show the face of the accused could prejudice the proceedings of the case," he said. The Karnataka Government, under the Gender Sensitisation and People-Friendly Police Project, has named one person in every police station especially to deal with women-related cases with sensitivity.
