A.P. blast hits mining

HYDERABAD: With Maoists blasting three high-tension transmission towers at Narayanpur in Bastar division on May 31, production of iron ore in mines of National Mineral Development Corporation at Bailadila came to a halt.

Its executive director Kumar Raghavan said the loss of production was about 60,000 tonnes a day and the daily loss was Rs. 9 crore.
