Applications invited for health-related courses

Courses open to Corporation school students, children of civic body's employees

  • They should have secured 65 per cent in all the subjects

    CHENNAI: The Communicable Diseases Hospital in Tondiarpet, run by the Chennai Corporation, has invited applications for admission to Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) course and nursing assistant training.

    The courses are open only to Corporation school students and children of the civic body's employees.

    Applicants for the DMLT course should have completed Plus Two with Physics and Chemistry and Biology or Zoology and Botany as subjects or have studied the subject in their vocational training stream.

    They should have secured 65 per cent in all the subjects (60 per cent for those belonging to backward classes, 55 per cent for most backward and 40 per cent for scheduled castes and tribes.

    Those applying should be between 17 and 25 years of age as of June 30, 2007.

    The fee for the two-year course, to be conducted in English, isRs.300.

    The nursing assistant course is open to female candidates, who have completed class X. The one-year course will have Tamil as the medium of instruction. The monthly fee is Rs.75.

    Those interested can buy the application forms at 187, Tiruvottiyur High Road, Tondiarpet, by paying Rs.50 in cash on working days from June 7 to July 2, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

    Submission deadline

    Completed application forms should be submitted before 5 p.m. on July 2.
