CHENNAI: Various trade organisations on Thursday condoled the death of R. Gopalakrishnan, Business Editor of The Hindu . In a statement, P. Gopalakrishnan, secretary, Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce and the India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said he was closely associated with all the Chambers of Commerce and trade associations and his coverage of events were analytical and impressive. A. Sakthivel, vice-president and chairman, Southern Region, FIEO, said Gopalakrishnan would be remembered for his contribution in and knowledge of international trade. J. Sriraman, convenor, Journalists Against Nuclear Weapons and Movement for People's Unity, said RG, as he was popularly known, was the moving spirit behind the anti-nuclear weapons movement in Tamil Nadu. P. Nandagopal, secretary, Consultative Committee of City Chambers of Commerce, said he was a keen observer and a thorough professional, well versed in tax laws.
