Junior Research Fellowship and NET

CHENNAI: The CSIR-UGC test for Junior Research Fellowship and National Eligibility Test for chemical, earth, life, mathematical and physical sciences will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Dr. MGR Janaki Arts and Science College, Chellammal College for Women, Guru Nanak College, Bharath Senior Secondary School and Shri. Public consultation

The sixth public consultation on the draft second master plan prepared by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority will be held from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the St. John Baptist Church, Karaiyanchavadi, Poonamallee, and at the Sumati Vishal Kalyana Mandapam, Duraiswamy Mudaliar Street, Kundrathur.

Free seminar

Aspire Superkidz will organise a free seminar at 6 p.m. on Saturday for parents of infants up to four years on the hidden powers of an infant's brain and the scientific facts on activating the genius in the child. Programme on

organ donation

The Mohan Foundation is organising a programme at 5 p.m. on Thursday at Raj Bhavan, in which the Governor Surjit Singh Barnala will honour organ donor families. Social Welfare Minister Poongothai and poet Kanimozhi will take an organ donation pledge. Health and Family Welfare Secretary V.K. Subburaj will release the "Indian Transplant Newsletter".

Free eye camp

A free eye camp was conducted by the Hindu Mission Hospital in association with the Champers Colony Welfare Association at Chromepet on Wednesday. An ophthalmologist and a refractionist screened 121 patients. Forty-one patients were referred for free intra-ocular lens surgery.

World Environment Day celebrated

The PR Syndicate celebrated World Environment Day on Tuesday. "Giving a Human Face to Environmental Issues" was the theme of the programme on global warming and climate change. Such annual events should be used to enhance political attention and social initiatives to protect the planet, PR Syndicate general secretary N.C. Siddharth said in a release.
