U.S. Consulate officials visit Chennai port

CHENNAI: A team of officials from the U.S. Consulate, led by Consul-General David T. Hopper, visited the Chennai port on Wednesday. Chairman of the Chennai Port Trust K. Suresh made a presentation on the business development plan of the port, prepared by an international consultant. The Chennai port had signed a 30-year license pact with a private company for developing a second container terminal at its East quay and South quay III berths.
