BANGALORE: A bank employee was stabbed on Thursday night in the city. Nageshwara Rao, Assistant Manager in SBI's St. Mark's Road branch, was found injured near Industrial Town in Kamakshipalya police station limits on Thursday night. According to the police, a few persons waylaid his car while he was returning from office. He was stabbed and abandoned in an isolated area. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) K.V. Sharathchandra termed the attack as suspicious and said the police interrogated Mr. Rao's estranged wife.
Robbed
Two persons assaulted Satish Kumar, a call centre employee, and made away with a gold chain, a mobile phone and Rs. 13,000, on Friday. According to the police, Satish Kumar, who is working in the IBM call centre, was dropped by the company vehicle near Babusapalya around 5 a.m. Two scooter-borne men blocked his way while he was walking down to his house. They beat him up and then relieved him of his belongings.
Die of burns
Dhanalakshmi, 25, died after she set herself on fire in her house in Rudrappa Garden on Thursday night, the Vivek Nagar police said. Her husband Chandrashekara, who came home then, suffered burns when he tried to douse the blaze. Both were taken to Victoria Hospital, where Dhanalakshmi died. Uma Maheshwari (30), a resident of Brahmapura, died of burns in Sriramapura police station limits on Thursday night. The police said she had a row with her husband Gajendra following which he set her on fire. Neighbours rushed Maheshwari to Victoria hospital, where she died.
