`Pact on power transmission sub-station signed in 1999'

Bangalore: The agreement between Bangalore University and Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL) to set up a transmission sub-station on the Central College grounds was signed in 1999, said H.A. Ranganath, Vice-Chancellor of Bangalore University.

"The Bangalore University Syndicate approved it then and Rs. 15 lakh was also transferred to the university account. We have not returned the amount. The class IV quarters, that are to be demolished, will be constructed on the Jnana Bharati campus," he said. The sub-station will come up at the Prasanna Kumar Block.
