`Doing Business with Australia' in city

BANGALORE: The Australian Trade Commission, along with the State Governments of Queensland and Victoria and the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, organised a seminar on "Doing Business with Australia" in the city on Monday.

The seminar, a part of the Australian Trade Commission's "Utsav Australia" programme, is an effort by the Australian Government to accelerate the country's commercial engagement with India, Aminur Rahman, Australian Consul General and Trade Commissioner for South India said.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr. Rahman said that the Australian Government wanted to highlight its capabilities and expertise in information and communication technology, science and technology, health and medical, biotechnology, building and construction, infrastructure, retailing and food and beverage.

"We are capable of providing value-added competitive solutions and expertise both in traditional and emerging sectors for businesses in Karnataka. This seminar is part of a series we are running across India," he said.

Venkat Kedalya, president of Bangalore Chamber of Industries and Commerce (BCIC) said that BCIC was working closely with its Australian counterpart in realising the existing potential for two-way trade and investments in technology.
