Ramchandra Gandhi cremated

NEW DELHI: Ramchandra Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, was cremated in the presence of his relatives and friends at the Lodhi Road crematorium here on Thursday. He was found dead in a guestroom at the India International Centre on Wednesday

Professor Gandhi's daughter Leela performed the last rites. His wife Indu, sister Tara, brothers Rajmohan Gandhi and Gopal Krishna Gandhi, niece Amrita and other relatives were present.

Among those who paid tributes Ramchandra Gandhi were journalist Mark Tully, Gandhian Nirmala Deshpande, historian Romila Thapar, art historian Kapila Vatsyayan, Prime Minister's media advisor Sanjaya Baru, painter Jatin Das and actress Nandita Das.
