Strengthen party, BSP workers told

Bangalore: The national general secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Veer Singh, MP, has called upon party workers to strengthen the organisation to attain the goal of making Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati the next Prime Minister.

Inaugurating the Kanakapura Lok Sabha constituency office of the party at the Jigani Industrial Area in Anekal, near here, Mr. Singh asked local party leaders to complete the process of constituting committees at various levels in the State without wasting time. Reiterating the BSP line of uniting the poor, including those among Brahmins, Lingayats and Muslims, he said that this could be achieved by formulating brotherhood committees as had been done in Uttar Pradesh.

Welcoming into the party Yathiraj, who leads a group of industrialists and businessmen under the Anekal Brahmana Sabha banner, Mohammed Munavar, who came with a large gathering of Muslims from Anekal town, and C. Nataraj, representing the Rajapura Math of the Lingayats in the taluk, Mr. Singh said this showed that the BSP had been transformed into an all0inclusive party.

Accusing other political parties of dividing society on caste lines, Mr. Singh said his party was working in the reverse direction and it was yielding encouraging results. The party had become a unifying force.

Jigani Shankar, State general secretary of the party, welcomed the gathering. Mr. Singh appointed Mr. Munavar president of the Anekal town unit of the party.
