NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje met Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh here on Sunday to brief him on the party affairs in the State in the wake of open rebellion from some Gujjar MLAs and suspension of two of them."She came here to explain her position and the situation in the State," a senior BJP leader said.

The party in the State is trying to cope with the fallout of the Gujjar-Meena standoff after the open caste war on the issue of the Gujjars' demand for Scheduled Tribe status, a demand that Meenas, who enjoy tribal status, opposed strongly.

Party leaders here pointed out that with such open dissension in the State, any move to change the Chief Minister would create more problems than solve any, especially in the context of the Presidential poll next month.
