Largest number recruited by TCS at a single institute

CHENNAI: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has made a record number of offers at Anna University, issuing letters of appointment to 1,006 students during this year’s campus interviews.

This is largest number of offers given by the company anywhere in India at a single institute. The placement programme for the final year students was jointly inaugurated a few days back by D. Viswanathan, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, and S. Ramadorai, CEO, TCS.

The 2,330 students registered for the test included 1,270 undergraduate students and 1,060 postgraduate students.

Each student, when registering at TCS’ testing terminal in Thoraipakkam, got a randomly generated question paper. Of the students who made it, 668 were graduates and 338 postgraduates.

A total of 60 panellists participated. The effort had logistics support by a team led by the Anna University’s Centre for University Industry Collaboration (CUIC) Director Mannar Jawahar.
