Sandeep, Ranjan slam centuries
Udhagamandalam: Fine centuries by S. Sandeep (156) and M. Ranjan (130) enabled Colts Cricket Club score a handsome 211-run win over Kents CC in the TNCA-NDCA ‘A’ division league for the M.A. Chidambaram Rolling Trophy at the HPF grounds here on Sunday.
At the Lawrence School grounds, the match between Nilgiris CC and Yankees CC ended in a thrilling tie, but the latter was declared winner for having lost lesser number of wickets.
The scores: ‘A’ division: Colts CC 362 for four in 40 overs (S. Sandeep 156, M. Ranjan 130) bt Kents CC 141; Yankees CC 189 for five in 35 overs (P. Prasanna 69, S. Joseph 50 not out) tied with Nilgiris CC 189 for nine in 35 overs (V. Dharmveer Singh 61, A. Sasi 55 ).
Ranjit ‘B’ cc wins
Ranjit ‘B’ Cricket Club (Tiruchengodu) defeated SPB Sports Club (Pallipalayam) by six runs in the TNCA-DCAN ‘A’ division league at the SPB Colony grounds in Pallipalayam, Namakkal, on Sunday.
The scores: ‘A’ division: Ranjit ‘B’ CC (Tiruchengodu) 154 in 31.4 overs (T. Palvannan 45) bt SPB SC (Pallipalayam) 148 in 37 overs (S. Mohandos 41).
Easy for Daily Thanthi
Daily Thanthi posted a 63-run win over Suryan FM in the opening clash of the seventh annual Classic Polo inter-media cricket tournament for the Coimbatore Midtown Rotary Rolling Trophy at the CIT inner grounds here on Sunday.
