Hat-trick by Suri Babu

HYDERABAD: Centre-forward Suri Babu scored a hat-trick to help Andhra Pradesh Police score an emphatic 5-0 win over Income Tax in the A-1 division hockey league championship at the Begumpet Police Stadium here on Monday.

Suribabu gave AP Police a 2-0 lead in the first half and later completed his hat-trick after resumption. Wingers Mohd Mujeed and Nagendra were the other scorers in the second session.

Southpaw Md. Faiz Ahmed struck 91 to guide The Hindu to a seven-wicket win over HFFC ‘B’ in the Coronet Cup cricket tournament here.

The scores: HFFC ‘B’ 141 for six (Naveen Kumar 43) lost to The Hindu 143 for three (Md. Faiz Ahmed 91).

Vineeth to lead
