Vedike seeks arrest of accused in murder case

Bidar: Jati Vinasha Vedike has demanded that the accused in the Dalit youth’s murder case in Sikindrabad Wadi village in Bhalki be arrested immediately.

In a memorandum to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, the vedike leaders accused the police of trying to cover up the crime by terming it a suicide.

Police officials were involved in the matter as one of the accused was a police informer, they alleged. According to the memorandum, Shrimanth (25) was killed three days after of his marriage. Dalpati Pundalik, his son and two others allegedly killed him.

This was done as Dalpati’s son had illicit relationship with Shrimanth’s wife. The post-mortem report stated that he was strangled, the leaders said.

Leaders such as Chakravardhan Jeevdhar, Arunkuumar Godbole , Shivkumar Jadhav and Prakash Kinagikar have signed the memorandum.
