BELLARY: Members of the Bellary Nagarika Horata Samiti staged a dharna on Friday in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office to protest against the “failure” of the Government in providing basic amenities to the people of the city. They demanded that steps be taken to construct flyovers at the three railway level crossings in the city, bypass roads, repair the road between Bellary and Hospet, build roads in the city, improve drinking water supply and the city bus service, clean drains, ensure uninterrupted power supply and to withdraw the increase in the entry fee to Dr. Rajkumar Park. K. Somashekar of Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) addressed the members. — Staff Correspondent
