Held on charge of smuggling diamond

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Gajuwaka police arrested Pyla Venkata Rao of a unit based in the Special Economic Zone, Duvvada, on Saturday on the charge of smuggling a diamond.
The management of a diamond-polishing unit alleged that Rao was given a raw diamond for polishing on June 18. After finishing the job, he returned it two days later but the management found that instead of the original one, he submitted a sub-standard diamond.
Body washed ashore
The body of A. Tarun Kumar, a first year Intermediate student of Chaitanya Junior College, Gajuwaka, was washed ashore at Gokul beach on Saturday. He was reported missing from Thursday.
