Kakinada: The city and other areas in East Godavari district have been experiencing inclement weather due to monsoon coupled with trough of low-pressure area in the Bay for the past two days. Kakinada experienced heavy rain on Wednesday morning for over two hours inundating low-lying areas. However, the total rainfall recorded during the past 24 hours ending at 8.30 a.m. was only 396.5 mm with the average being 0.7 mm. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded were: Maredumilli 19.8 mm, Rajavommangi 26 mm, Yelesweram 22.2 mm, Mandapet 12.8 mm, Amalapuram 6.4 mm, Kakinada 3 mm and Sakhinetipalli 19.3 mm.
