MUMBAI: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Thursday assailed the Bharatiya Janata Party for levelling charges against UPA Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil. “Mr. Advani said nothing when Ms. Patil was made the Governor of Rajasthan, a BJP-ruled State. He and his party could have opposed her appointment and said that they did not want somebody so tainted. But they did nothing of the sort and accepted her,” said Madan Bafna, Maharashtra NCP vice- president at his weekly press briefing. Mr. Bafna said the BJP was now raising questions and pointing fingers at her because she was declared the UPA candidate.
