CHENNAI: Officials of the Directorate of Drugs Control have registered a complaint at the Tondiarpet police station against Mohammed Mustafa Shariff of Tondiarpet, who runs Ganga Hospital, for distributing allopathic drugs to patients, claiming they would cure chikungunya. The officials also seized a huge stock of drugs in possession of the hospital, without a valid licence and proper documentation. Following several complaints, the Health Department had launched a drive to identify ‘quack’ practitioners and prevent them from distributing fake drugs.
