Train timings revised

New railway timetables for different regions released

VIJAYAWADA: New railway timetables were released on Friday for different regions, covering the South Central Railway, Southern, South-West and Konkan railways. Each costs Rs. 30 and copies are available at book stalls at railway station from Saturday, according to Additional Railway Manager M. Sarjana Rao. The new time table would come into effect from July 1.A major benefit for users of the Visakhapatnam-Tenali Janmabhoomi Express is in the form of its extension up to Secunderabad via Guntur and Miryalaguda. The Secunderabad-Vijayawada Intercity express would run up to Guntur, while the Vijayawada-Kagaznagar passenger has been extended to Nagpur by amalgamating Kagaznagar-Nagpur passenger with it.

Timings of several trains have been revised. Tirupati-Visakhapatnam Tirumala express would arrive at Vijayawada at 3.20 a.m. and depart at 3.30 a.m. The Machilipatnam-Tirupati passenger would arrive at Vijayawada at 9.20 p.m. and depart at 9.40 p.m. It would reach Tirupati at 4.35 a.m., which would be convenient for the pilgrims. The train would now run at a speed of 110 kmph, matching with the Nizamuddin-Madras Rajdhani Express. Because of speed increase, the journey time would come down by an hour and a half. Timings of several trains have been changed. The Gudur-Vijayawada passenger would arrive at Vijayawada at 1 p.m. The Vijayawada-Machilipatnam Passenger would depart from Vijayawada at 2.05 p.m.
