MALAPPURAM: The State Government has given shape to a Police Complaints Authority (PCA) with the former judge of the High Court K.K. Dinesan as its chairman, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said.

The PCA will look into people’s complaints against the police as well as police personnel’s complaints against superior officers.

Similar bodies will be formed at the district level with retired district judges at their helm, the Home Minister said.

He was inaugurating the 20th State conference of the Kerala Police Officers Association here on Sunday.

Mr. Balakrishnan said community policing would be launched from September 1, and police officers would be given training in July.
