124 arrested for drunk driving

KOCHI: The police arrested 124 persons on the charge of drunken driving, from various parts of the city on Saturday night. The surprise checking was conducted up to midnight. Those arrested are drivers of 37 private cars, 82 two-wheelers, two lorries, two autorickshaws and a tempo. After being arrested, they were taken for medical examination and their vehicles seized. Cases have been charged against all of them. The drive comes in the wake of accidents caused by people who drive drunk.
