>>The heading of a report “Christie’s withdraw Gandhiji’s manuscript” (July 3, 2007, page 1) should have been “Christie’s withdraws Gandhiji’s manuscript”.

>>In a report “[United States aircraft carrier] Nimitz drops anchor off Chennai port” (July 3, 2007, page 1), the name of the ship USS Pinckney, that is accompanying the USS Nimitz, was incorrectly mentioned as the USS Pickney. (USS Pinckney is a guided missile destroyer (DDG 91) and is named in honour of Navy Cook 1st Class William Pinckney, who received the Navy Cross for his courageous rescue of a fellow crew member aboard USS Enterprise (CV 6) during the Battle of Santa Cruz Island on October 26, 1942. On February 16, 2007, USS Pinckney was awarded the 2006 Battle “E” award. The Battle Efficiency Award, commonly known as the Battle “E”, is awarded annually to the small number of U.S. Navy ships, submarines, aviation and other units that win their battle efficiency competition.)

>>A sentence in “Russia turns to science to fuel growth” (Editorial page, July 3, 2007) was: “‘By 1015 nano-industries should be producing gross output worth one trillion roubles (over $38 billion),R 17; Russian Minister for Science and Education Andrei Fursenko said.” It should have been the year 2015.
