“Land for SEZ only through negotiations”

PERAMBALUR: Land for setting up Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Perambalur district would be acquired through talks with landowners and a fair price offered as compensation, the District Revenue Officer (Land Acquisition), SEZ, Perambalur, M. Narayanan, said.

He was addressing landowners, village and town panchayat presidents at a meeting here to explain the procedure to be followed for acquisition process. Steps would be taken to provide employment to one of the eligible persons from each family surrendering the land for SEZ.

A survey on identifying the employability of eligible persons would be conducted, he said.Villagers from Tirumandurai, Pennakonam, Eraiyur and Labbaikudikadu, participated in the meeting.
