Dharmapuri: Incessant rain in the Cauvery’s catchment in Karnataka over the past few days has resulted in a steady increase in water level at the Hogenakkal falls, 46 km from here. The pavements at the main entrance to the falls are flooded. Tourists have been barred from bathing and restrictions imposed on coracle rides. According to official sources, “full release of water from Kabini and Krishnarajasagar dams is expected to reach Hogenakkal any time. Presently, the inflow at Hogenakkal is 22,000 cusecs. This is expected to touch 28,000 to 30,000 cusecs on Friday. — Staff Reporter
