SIVAGANGA: Security has been tightened in and around the town to prevent untoward incidents on the eve of bringing the surrendered accused in the case relating to the killing of Sivaganga Municipal Chairman Murugan. The police have made special arrangements to produce Mandhakalai and Bala at the Judicial Magistrate Court here on Friday. They have drawn up a security plan as a big crowd is expected at the court. The policemen drawn from various parts of the district have taken their positions at strategic spots. Armed guards have been deployed at the court. “Fool-proof security arrangements have been made. The aim is to prevent any unpleasant incident,” said the Superintendent of Police, N. Kannan. Arrangements have been made to get Mandhakalai and Bala into police custody. The teams formed to nab all accused in the bomb blast case were closely monitoring the movements of the suspects. Teams were sent to several areas to apprehend them. Meanwhile, the Collector, M.A. Siddique, has assured the people that all those involved in the murder would be brought to book. “Investigation will be free and fair. No one will be spared. There is no need for the people to resort to agitations in this connection,” he said. Frequent agitations in this connection would cause inconvenience to the public and the police, who were assigned the duty of arresting those involved in the crime. Mr. Siddique said he had received information that some youths had recovered five country bombs while they were taking bath at a tank near Paiyur. These were used by the Narikoravas.
