Karimnagar Collector assures help to bright students

Philanthropists, others coming forward to help the needy and talented persons

Students should not discontinue studies due to financial constraints, says the Collector


KARIMNAGAR: District Collector M. V. Satyanarayana has assured all assistance to bright students and talented persons, who excel in various fields from the district administration and other philanthropists for continuing their education and other career opportunities.

Participating as the chief guest at the ‘Deshamunu Preminchumanna’ (Love Your Country) programme jointly organised by district administration and Lok Satta here on Sunday, he said:

“Talented students should not discontinue their education because of financial constraints.”

He said several philanthropists and others were coming forward to extend all assistance to the needy and talented persons.

Quoting a news item, which was published in these columns last year about a SC girl from the district Nyatha Anitha securing top rank in IIT and unable to continue her education, he said the girl had secured all financial assistance for continuing her education with the support extended by philanthropists and others.

Anitha was now pursuing her IIT couse in Mumbai.

Responding to a news item ‘Gritty Teacher’ published in these columns on Sunday, the Collector was all praise for K. Arun Kumar, who lost both his hands and was working as a Vidya volunteer to eke out his livelihood.

“Mr. Arun Kumar has showed the world that nothing is impossible if one has true grit and patience,” he said and assured to provide all assistance from the administration and other organisations.

Later, the Collector also felicitated the physically challenged teacher with a shawl and a memento.

He also lauded the services of eight sarpanches who secured Nirmal Puraskars for achieving cent per cent sanitation in their villages in the district.

Lok Satta district president N Srinivas and secretary T. Rajamouli also spoke. said they had started the ‘Deshamunu Preminchumanna’ forum to felicitate unsung heroes of the district, who had excelled in various fields. District Education Officer R. Surender Reddy was also present.
