NEW DELHI: For the second time, Army soldiers have scaled Mount Everest from the Chinese side. The team, comprising mostly members from the Chief of the Army Staff Gen. J.J. Singh’s parent unit, Maratha Light Infantry, reached Lhasa on March 31 and reached the Everest base camp a week later via Gyantse, Shigatse and New Tingri. Defence Minister. A.K. Antony acknowledged that “China has been of great help to us.”
