BC panel chairman takes charge

Bangalore: Senior advocate C.S. Dwarakanath has taken charge as chairman of the Permanent Backward Classes Commission. The post has been lying vacant for about one year. Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Dwarakanath said that his first pri ority would be to take up door-to-door census of castes in the State, which was planned but never conducted. — Special Correspondent
