CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu State Chess Association will conduct all its chess activities in the large Hall of Chess, a facility provided by the SDAT in the Nehru stadium a couple of years ago. A MoU was signed in this regard by the president of the TNSCA, P.R. Venketrama Raju and the member-secretary, SDAT Atulya Misra in the presence of the Minister for Sports, T.P.M. Moideen Khan, on Wednesday. The theme was to broad-base the sport. According to a press release, the Minister appreciated the big strides that Tamil Nadu had made in chess in the international arena and hoped the MoU would spark further interest among the younger generation. The Hall is the meeting point of all chess lovers and in particular a centre for chess coaching for children who do not come from affluent homes.
