Hyderabad: Police in the temple town of Tirupati went on a state of high alert following an anonymous telephone call that a bomb was planted in Govinda Raja Swamy temple on Thursday night. A thorough check of the temple proved that the call was a hoax. According to B. Seshu , Additional SP of Chittoor, stationed at Tirupati , the call came at 9 p.m stating that a bomb was planted on the temple premises. A bomb disposal squad assisted by the local police rushed to the temple and searched the entire premises but found nothing. Security at the temple towns of Tirupati and Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, was tightened after the London development in which a Bangalore resident was suspected to be involved in terrorist activity in the United Kingdom.
