‘Burning’ issue

UNSCIENTIFIC PRACTICE: A patch of the forest cut down for podu cultivation, also known as slash-and-burn cultivation, in Karakkavalasa hamlet near Araku valley in the Agency area of Visakhapatnam. This practice by tribals has severely affected the green cover of the region.
