KOCHI: Setting a new example, Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has raced ahead of other universities in the State by announcing the B.Tech. examination results in record time. Alleviating the fears of students who had already received campus placements, the university published the results of B.Tech. examinations held in 27 affiliated colleges here on Friday. For the first time, majority of the results of the postgraduate examinations were also published without any delay bringing relief to hundreds of students who had applied for higher studies. Terming the achievement as a ‘collective effort’, convener of the standing committee of the Syndicate on examination Joy Job Kulavely said it was a result of rigorous planning and organic functioning of the heads of departments, faculty, non-teaching staff and the organisations of teachers. Explaining the process leading to the publication of results, he said the examinations committee had convened meetings of the heads of departments and requested them to complete the internal evaluation at an early date. The meetings of Principals were organised to seek the support of teachers for the timely completion of evaluation. Dr. Kulavely said decentralised camps were held to enhance prompt implementation of the work. Cusat’s achievement becomes significant at a time when other universities are lagging behind. The B.Tech. examinations in colleges affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University began only on July 12. Authorities of University of Kerala and University of Calicut were yet to start the valuation process.
