NGO alleges neglect of women

Kakinada: The government is neglecting women and has failed to provide basic amenities to them, according to Aluri Vijayalakshmi, chairperson of CEDOW, a voluntary organisation championing the cause of women.

Addressing a meeting organised to create awareness among adolescent girls on their health at the Andhra Polytechnic here on Saturday, she deplored that working women had been facing a lot of inconvenience in the absence of toilets at their places of working including public and private sector organisations.

CEDOW secretary N. Bhanumati underlined the need for separate clinics for providing the required counselling to adolescent girls.
